Rayn is like the Oracle from the Matrix.
He doesnβt tell you WHAT you want to hear, but what you NEED to hear.
We hit revenue must faster after an honest and open conversation with Rayn.
Rayn and the Archangel team provide so much more than capital - theyβve genuinely felt like partners grinding alongside us in achieving our ambitious goals.
Rayn has a knack for spotting great aspiring founders and helping to support them through early stages of company formation to growth stage. His network of investors is second to none.
Rayn is the rare ideal angel investor. He makes decisions quickly, wires the next day & signs all of his docs on time. On top of that he never asks for discounts or jobs for his relatives. When he does offer introductions or feedback they are usually useful and simple to act on. If you are building a company, Rayn should be one of your first stops.
Rayn has been instrumental in ourrecent funding round. His attention to detail regarding due diligence, and significant network of investors helped us close the round in ~2 months. He is extremely committed and a real asset to our advisory board, and we hope to continue to work alongside him well into the future.
I've worked closely with Rayn sincehe invested in Instaclustr at an early stage when we needed support at a critical moment in our journey. That support led to an epic outcome for the company as we grew from a Canberra based startup to a global company. Rayn was an awesome supporter every step of the way and is always happy to catchup for a beer and a chat about challenges and opportunities!
Investor support at a critical moment led to company growing from a Canberra startup to a global company - transformative business outcome language.
I've known Rayn for more than8 years and like a scrappy startup he's only become better over time. He's one of the most valuable and connected investors in Australia. He has helped me grow so much as a multi-time Founder. When Rayn was looking for investors for his own fund I was excited to immediately return the favour and join. You want to get Rayn in your corner somehow as he is in it for the long-term. He will help you grow as both a company and a person with whatever and connecting you to whoever to get there.
I met Rayn for the firsttime in July 2025 when raising capital for our seed round. He asked great questions and put me through the ringer (briefly) with DD using industry experts from his network, but then reached conviction quickly and put me through the IC process with great efficiency. He then proceeded to hustle harder than I have seen anyone hustle with the various individuals he knew within Australian VC, pushing them to consider us as we targeted a quick close of the round. He pivoted quickly with me as things got tricky (don't they always?), and was an incredible champion setting terms for the round. I couldn't have closed the round without his support (shout-out to Andrew Cicutto also for being a wonderful therapist when I was in the thick of it). And all Rayn wanted in return was a personalised T-shirt! What a guy. I think the key differentiator in the early stages was me (a former professional comedian) telling him that he was funny. I reckon he would've given me any amount of money after I told him that. He was also a good creative director for our raise photo shoot, which got us top billing in the article - https://www.startupdaily.net/topic/funding/industrial-battery-storage-software-platform-hachiko-charges-up-on-2-5m-seed-round/.
The founder explicitly states they 'couldn't have closed the round without his support,' indicating a critical, company-saving impact that was foundational to their continued existence.
