StartUp Club NZ

StartUp Club NZ, officially known as AUT Startup Club, is a dynamic student society based in Auckland, New Zealand, operating under the umbrella of the Auckland University of Technology Student's Association (AUTSA). Established in June 2020, the club serves as an entrepreneurial and business-minded community for current AUT students and alumni, fostering innovation and practical skills within a supportive environment.

The club's core mission is to bridge the divide between theoretical classroom learning and the fast-paced, real-world landscape of entrepreneurship. It achieves this through a diverse array of initiatives, including regular meetups, engaging networking events, and insightful keynote speaker presentations. These gatherings provide a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs, creatives, and changemakers to share ideas, gain valuable industry insights, and begin transforming their visions into tangible ventures.

AUT Startup Club is distinguished by its student-led model, emphasising an inclusive and collaborative space where all are welcome to participate, regardless of prior experience. This open-door policy encourages a broad spectrum of students from various backgrounds and disciplines to explore the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The club's activities extend to hands-on workshops, interactive founder Q&A panels, and its signature 'Vision to Venture' event series, all designed to demystify business-building processes and enhance entrepreneurial literacy.

Since its inception, the club has rapidly grown into a vibrant network, boasting over 250 students and alumni. Its collaborative approach aims to strengthen professional networks for its members, connecting them with like-minded peers and industry professionals, ultimately creating improved career opportunities within New Zealand's startup and small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) ecosystems. While no specific individual leadership names for the student society are publicly highlighted beyond its student-led nature, its impactful programs are often supported by collaborations with entities such as AUT Ventures, The King's Trust Aotearoa, HTK Startup, Ministry of Awesome, Momentum, Startup Aotearoa, KiwiNet, and #startupnz.
