Established by creatively-minded law students and early-career professionals, it operates on a pro bono basis, driven by a passion for intellectual and social satisfaction and a commitment to access to justice for everyday Australians. The organisation's core mission revolves around empowering a grassroots community of entrepreneurial, early-career legal leaders to drive meaningful change across Australia and globally.

Through a range of impactful initiatives, The Legal Forecast educates its community on innovation and new technologies relevant to law and access to justice. They actively employ design thinking approaches to identify and develop novel solutions to problems encountered by legal professionals and their clients. A key offering is TLF Connect, a free virtual mentoring program that connects future-focused law students and graduates with leaders in legal innovation.

Further demonstrating its commitment to foresight and development, The Legal Forecast runs "Disrupting Law," a unique 54-hour hackathon for tertiary students. This event focuses on fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and rapid problem-solving to unearth new opportunities within the legal sector. The organisation also provides TLF OnSpeaker, a free online seminar series where future-focused legal minds from around the world share insights on projects and ideas that matter.
