Initially known as Ebsworth and Ebsworth, the firm underwent a transformative merger with Home Wilkinson Lowry in 2008, officially becoming HWL Ebsworth Lawyers. This merger marked the beginning of a rapid national expansion, with the firm opening offices in key capital cities and regional centres. By August 2016, HWLE achieved the distinction of being the only commercial law firm with offices in every Australian State and Territory. Further solidifying its position, the firm acquired mid-tier firm TressCox Lawyers in February 2018, significantly expanding its partner count and overall staff numbers.
