The Hub on SX

The Hub on SX (HOSX) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Fremantle, Western Australia, dedicated to accelerating sustainable practices within Western Australian businesses. Established by Metis Design & Engineering, an award-winning engineering consultancy with a strong commitment to sustainability and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, HOSX originated as a modest co-working initiative. It has since evolved into a vibrant community that unites innovators, professionals, and businesses sharing a collective aspiration to make a tangible, positive environmental and social impact.

More than just a conventional office space, HOSX functions as a 'community with purpose'. It strives to foster a collaborative environment where sustainability-focused start-ups, entrepreneurs, and established businesses can connect, share knowledge, and collectively work towards positive change. The organisation achieves its mission through various avenues, including providing education, promoting collaboration, advocating for supportive policies, and acknowledging the efforts of those spearheading sustainable initiatives. Its core operations are deeply informed by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

HOSX's leadership includes Charlie Guilloteau, its Founding Director, who also directs Metis Design & Engineering and Microplastix, bringing extensive experience as a Chartered Professional Mechanical Engineer. Nicola Devonald serves as a Director and General Manager, contributing her expertise in operations, office management, and community engagement, alongside a strong passion for sustainability. The organisation recently made a strategic relocation to the Walyalup Civic Centre in Fremantle, affirming its central role in promoting sustainability, innovation, and community-focused business in the region. This move allows HOSX to occupy a larger, dedicated space, enhancing its capacity to serve sustainability-minded businesses of all sizes.
