Spacecubed

Spacecubed is a prominent innovation hub and coworking network established in Perth, Australia, dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and driving positive change through community, spaces, and programs. Founded in March 2012 by Brodie McCulloch and Tom Tolchard, it began with its inaugural space at 45 St Georges Terrace, now known as Riff, marking it as Perth's first collaborative working space. Since its inception, Spacecubed has significantly expanded its footprint to include six locations across Australia, offering flexible workspaces, private offices, meeting rooms, and event venues to a diverse clientele ranging from freelancers and early-stage startups to growing teams and established corporate entities, including Fortune 500 companies.

At its core, Spacecubed provides a comprehensive ecosystem designed to support businesses at various stages of growth. Its offerings extend beyond physical infrastructure to include a suite of programs such as the Plus Eight Accelerator, which has been instrumental in nurturing local talent. Launched in 2017, the Plus Eight Accelerator has invested $3.7 million in startups, leading to over $24 million in follow-on funding and a portfolio valuation exceeding $150 million. Other key initiatives include mentoring through its Office Hours program, pre-accelerator programs, She Codes for women in technology, and Meshpoints, which focuses on strengthening regional innovation ecosystems in Western Australia.

What differentiates Spacecubed is its strong commitment to social impact and a people-first approach, operating as a Certified B Corporation. The organisation's mission is ambitious, aiming to empower one million innovators and entrepreneurs by 2030. This mission is underpinned by the Spacecubed Foundation, a registered charity established in 2022, which expands their impact by promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship to build thriving, resilient, and sustainable communities across Western Australia. Through partnerships with government bodies and private sector organisations, Spacecubed actively contributes to ecosystem building activities and addresses social, environmental, and economic challenges.

As of 2024, Spacecubed has grown to manage over 6,500 square metres of flexible workspace across Australia, continually evolving its offerings to meet the needs of a dynamic workforce. The leadership team is spearheaded by Founder Brodie McCulloch, with Ophelie Cutier stepping into the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer from July 2024, bringing over a decade of experience within the organisation. Nate Sturcke serves as the Head of Impact, focusing on programs like Meshpoints and the Innovative Society Index. This dedicated leadership and a strong community network position Spacecubed as a vital catalyst for innovation and economic development in Australia.
