Write a ReviewAbout Dimension 5
Dimension 5, originally known as Dimension⁵, was a creative coworking space launched in South Melbourne, Australia, on 28 April 2016. Conceived by Tania de Jong AM, founder of Creative Universe, Creative Innovation Global, and Creativity Australia, it operated as a strategic partnership between global ICT solutions and services provider Dimension Data Australia and Creative Universe. The facility aimed to foster 'positive human collisions,' sparking innovation and entrepreneurship across various sectors by bringing diverse individuals and organisations together. Its mission was to accelerate opportunities presented by the exponential growth of new technologies, providing a dynamic environment where members could transcend traditional boundaries and explore possibilities.
The 1100-square-metre hub was designed to serve a broad community, including entrepreneurs, innovators, creatives, social enterprises, small businesses, and not-for-profits. It also welcomed disruptive teams from larger organisations seeking to connect with a passionate community of 'game-changers.' The space emphasised developing social innovation and promoting diversity and enterprise, offering a collaborative ecosystem that went beyond just physical workspace. Membership included access to a range of regular community events, such as brainstorm breakfasts, pitch nights, guest speakers, and yoga and meditation classes, fostering a strong sense of community and shared learning.
A key differentiator for Dimension 5 was the provision of mentoring and support from Dimension Data staff to startups and other members working within the space. This unique collaboration aimed to rapidly accelerate opportunities for early-stage entrepreneurs and assist established businesses in becoming more innovative. The facility also boasted amenities such as 24/7 access, personal lockers, a shower, bike parking, and proximity to public transport, catering to the practical needs of its members. The coworking space was officially launched by the Victorian Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade, Philip Dalidakis MP, highlighting its recognition and potential contribution to Melbourne's innovation landscape.
However, it is important to note that as of May 2026, the official website for this entity, http://www.dimension5hub.com.au, displays a 'Coming Soon' placeholder. This indicates that Dimension 5 as a coworking space at the specified URL is currently not operational or is under significant redevelopment, making current information regarding its services, leadership, and active community challenging to ascertain.
