Young Sikh Professionals Network (YSPN)

The Young Sikh Professionals Network (YSPN) is a prominent non-profit organisation established in 2012 with a core mission to empower the Australian Sikh community to achieve professional excellence and develop ethical Sikh leaders. Founded by Sikh Youth Australia (SYA) youth leaders, YSPN was created to address an unspoken need for career planning among young Sikh professionals in Australia. It has since grown to become a global platform, engaging thousands of Sikh professionals across the world.

YSPN operates with a focus on accelerating the growth of Sikhs within the first 10 years of their careers, providing support to build leadership capabilities, develop contemporary professional skills, foster meaningful connections, and access community leaders. The organisation achieves its objectives through a range of initiatives including networking events, professional development workshops, and an online mentoring program. They also produce and distribute inspirational content aimed at stimulating national debate and promoting the intellectual visibility of Sikhs.

What makes YSPN distinctive is its extensive reach and volunteer-driven model. It is recognised as the largest professional network targeted at young Sikh professionals in the world, with five permanent chapters located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Auckland. The network is powered by a dedicated management team of over 50 passionate volunteers, all of whom are young professionals themselves, working across five countries to support the community's growth. This volunteer base is crucial to delivering their mandate, which also includes an ethical leadership program currently under development.

Key achievements for YSPN include successfully delivering over 50 events and impacting more than 2,000 people within its initial five years. Their commitment extends to fostering safe and supportive environments for attendees to network, learn, and grow, upholding values such as equality, selflessness, courage, social justice, and servant leadership in the modern working world. By connecting tenured professionals with young professionals and university students through their mentoring program, YSPN plays a vital role in intergenerational knowledge transfer and community building.
