Write a ReviewAbout The CEO Institute
The CEO Institute, founded in Melbourne, Australia, in 1992, is a premier organisation dedicated to the professional and personal development of business leaders across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. The institute's core philosophy is encapsulated in its belief that no business leader should ever walk alone, providing a vital peer-to-peer support network. This network enables CEOs, Managing Directors, business owners, and senior executives to connect, share insights, and collaboratively solve high-stakes challenges in a confidential and non-competitive environment.
At the heart of The CEO Institute's offerings are its Syndicate programs, including The CEO Syndicate, The Executive Syndicate, and The Boardroom Syndicate, all designed to foster strategic thinking, problem-solving, and leadership confidence. These programs feature monthly half-day meetings facilitated by distinguished Chairs who bring extensive business excellence and experience. The structured methodology integrates peer insight, strategic reflection, and accountability in action, ensuring members receive practical tools and diverse perspectives to navigate complex business landscapes.
The Institute has a rich history of expansion, extending its footprint to South Australia, New South Wales, and Queensland by 1997, and Western Australia by 2007. In 2015, operations commenced in New Zealand, and a CEO syndicate was launched in Singapore in late 2025, marking its gateway into Asia. A key achievement in its journey was the establishment of the International Institute of Directors and Managers (IIDM) in 2000, creating an invaluable online learning and professional development resource.
Setting a global standard, The CEO Institute is the world's first certification body for CEOs, recognising excellence in business leadership through experience, not merely theory. It offers globally recognised certifications such as Certified CEO (CCEO), Provisional Certified CEO (CCEO(prov)), and Certified Manager (CertM). These designations are awarded based on rigorous assessment, business education, work experience, and a commitment to ongoing professional development, providing competitive advantage and impressive credentials for leaders.
The CEO Institute has supported 5,726 members and alumni and awarded 718 certifications throughout its 32 years of operation. Under the leadership of CEO Richard Wynn, the organisation continues to champion a future where every leader possesses the support and resources needed for professional and personal success, enabling them to empower their own teams and drive continuous growth.
