Write a ReviewAbout Pulsatile Innovations
Pulsatile Innovations, headquartered in Drouin, Australia, is an innovative medtech entity focused on developing solutions for critical emergency healthcare scenarios. Founded by Elleesha King, an experienced ambulance paramedic and registered nurse, the company emerged from a direct clinical need identified through years of frontline healthcare experience. King observed the significant difficulties and anxieties healthcare professionals faced in manually detecting a pulse during suspected cardiac arrest, often leading to delays in crucial life-saving interventions. This firsthand insight spurred the development of their flagship product, the Pulse Tile. Elleesha King's extensive clinical background as an ambulance paramedic and registered nurse directly informed the creation of Pulse Tile.
The Pulse Tile is designed as a single-use, intuitive medical device that provides rapid and accurate feedback on pulse presence and CPR compression quality. Its primary function is to eliminate the subjectivity of manual pulse checks, offering a clear "CPR/No CPR" indication to rescuers, regardless of their medical background. This innovative approach aims to dramatically reduce the critical assessment time, which current guidelines suggest should be under 10 seconds, but often takes much longer even for highly trained professionals. By providing objective data, the Pulse Tile seeks to enable faster, more confident decision-making, thereby improving patient outcomes and reducing unnecessary CPR. The device is intended to streamline emergency cardiac care by offering clear, real-time guidance to responders.
Pulsatile Innovations has made significant strides since its inception. The company received its first prototype in June 2024 and has been actively developing its minimum viable product. Demonstrating a strong commitment to intellectual property, Pulsatile Innovations has lodged a provisional patent and submitted a PCT patent application, providing protection across 158 countries. The company is currently preparing for a pre-seed funding round of $850,000 to finalise its product, gather clinical data for validation, and strengthen its regulatory strategies. The securing of intellectual property, including a PCT patent application covering 158 countries, highlights the company's forward-thinking strategy.
Leadership at Pulsatile Innovations is spearheaded by founder and CEO Elleesha King. She is supported by a dedicated team, including Rayna Berg as Chief of Operations, Professor Paul Stoddart as Chief Technology Officer, and Nicolette Muller as Quality and Regulatory Lead. This diverse team combines expertise in public health, biomedical engineering, and regulatory affairs, augmented by an advisory board. Pulsatile Innovations has also gained recognition through its participation in competitive programs such as the Australian Clinical Entrepreneur Program (AUSCEP) and Swinburne University's Initiative and Elevate Program. The company's work has also been featured on national platforms like 7NEWS Australia. Pulsatile Innovations is driven by a profound mission to enhance global survival rates for cardiac arrest victims.
