Founders Climate 10x is a dedicated accelerator program based in Sydney, Australia, specifically designed to fast-track climate technology startups. Launched in 2023, it operates as a specialized stream within the broader UNSW Founders 10x Accelerator, a leading university initiative for startup success in Australia. The accelerator serves Australian-based climate tech and clean energy startups that are at an early stage, typically possessing a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 3 or higher, and have raised less than approximately $3-5 million in funding. Founders applying to the Climate 10x stream are not required to have an affiliation with the University of New South Wales (UNSW), making the program accessible to a wider range of ambitious entrepreneurs across the nation. Participants benefit from a comprehensive 10-week intensive program that includes investment, expert mentorship, tailored workshops, and ongoing post-program support.

Founders Climate 10x was established as a key component of the Trailblazer for Recycling & Clean Energy (TRaCE), a significant federally funded initiative awarded to UNSW and the University of Newcastle to boost research and development and drive commercialisation outcomes in sustainable solutions. This backing, along with a partnership with clean tech venture capital firm Virescent Ventures, provides startups with access to a world-class network of climate R&D expertise, advanced prototyping infrastructure, industry partners, government networks, and investors. The program aims to transform climate solutions into high-impact, scalable technology companies, playing a vital role in Australia's transition to a net-zero economy.

Under the leadership of individuals such as Eleni Assargiotis (Program Manager, Climate 10x), Gabriella Nunes (Senior Manager of Entrepreneurship at UNSW), and David Burt (Director of Entrepreneurship), Founders Climate 10x has achieved notable successes. The broader UNSW Founders 10x Accelerator, of which Climate 10x is a part, has backed over 135 startups since 2017, helping them raise $277 million in post-program funding and generating over $1 billion in combined enterprise value. The program has supported 16 startups through its Climate 10x stream, with alumni developing innovative solutions like AI for ocean data optimisation, energy-free wastewater treatment, and reusable pallet wrapping.
