About Climate Salad
Climate Salad is a prominent Australian-based community dedicated to accelerating climate solutions by fostering connections, knowledge, and capital within the climate technology ecosystem. It serves a diverse group including climate tech entrepreneurs, scientists, researchers, talent, mentors, investors, corporate partners, and government bodies. The entity aims to help Australian companies build innovations to address global environmental challenges, supporting them in gaining customers, securing talent, and achieving growth.
Co-founded by Mick Liubinskas, Climate Salad originated from a blog concept and quickly evolved into a comprehensive ecosystem builder. Its distinct approach acknowledges that climate technology often involves deep tech, hardware, and complex solutions requiring unique strategies. A core value is to "give first" and foster a collaborative community where founders are at the centre of the ecosystem, receiving support, nurture, and development. Climate Salad's ambitious mission is to significantly impact 1,000 climate tech companies by 2030, ensuring they acquire a customer, a team member, or an investor.
Key achievements include hosting annual Climate Tech Festivals and Awards, which bring together entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to celebrate advancements and foster collaboration. Climate Salad has also consistently produced the Australian Climate Tech Industry Report since at least 2022, providing valuable insights into the sector's growth, challenges, and opportunities. The community boasts over 800 climate tech companies, 132 investors, and 1,245 members, facilitating more than 3,000 introductions and connections. Additionally, Climate Salad has launched initiatives like the Global Growth Program to support scale-up companies in their international expansion.
The leadership team includes Co-Founder and CEO Mick Liubinskas, along with Michael Dijkstra, Shravya Sunkugari, and Strategic and Operations Advisor Robin Goldberg. They offer a range of services from strategy and advisory for startups and corporates to market entry support, capital raising, and ecosystem engagement for governments and research groups. Climate Salad actively champions the economic potential of decarbonisation, advocating for job creation and robust economic growth through sustainable practices.
