UTS Techcelerator

UTS Techcelerator is a prominent accelerator program based in Sydney, Australia, operated by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT). It is specifically designed to support the early-stage prototyping and customer validation of deep technology innovations developed by students and researchers within the university ecosystem. This financial support is significantly complemented by unparalleled access to UTS's world-class facilities for prototyping, alongside invaluable guidance from expert staff, industry leaders, and seasoned startup founders who provide mentorship and strategic advice.

Established with a strong focus on 'deep tech,' the UTS Techcelerator covers a wide array of engineering and information technology disciplines. This includes cutting-edge domains such as robotics, artificial intelligence, big data, machine learning, bio-engineering, sustainable technology, software development, cloud computing, cybersecurity, blockchain, IoT, and even quantum computing. The program rigorously evaluates projects based on their desirability (problem-solving, unique value proposition), feasibility (original deep tech deployment, IP ownership, four-month deliverability), and viability (business model, team capability). Notable prototypes previously supported include an AI Exoskeleton for stroke patients, Gamified Discussoo for online discussions, an intelligent online clothing platform called Fits, and environmentally conscious Zero Nitrogen Agri Technology. The accelerator emphasises customer validation, robust project planning, and the development of a commercially viable business model within its structured timeframe. Dilek Cetindamar Kozanoglu, PhD, serves as the Director of Techcelerator within the Faculty of Engineering and IT, guiding its strategic direction and operational execution.
