SunRamp

SunRamp is an Australian entity based on the Sunshine Coast that encompasses both a dedicated health technology accelerator program and strategic management services. Initially, SunRamp gained recognition for its Health Technology Accelerator Program, launched to support home-grown entrepreneurs developing innovative, tech-based solutions for global health challenges. This accelerator, founded by Ron Hill, aimed to provide comprehensive education, training, and mentoring, with a strong focus on helping healthtech businesses achieve revenue pathways and market access.

The accelerator program, which ran for 12 weeks for its first intake in 2021 and 13 weeks for the second cohort in early 2022, was designed to empower companies to secure new deals, generate diverse income streams, and scale their operations in both national and international markets. It was strategically supported by the Queensland Government's Advance Queensland initiative and the Sunshine Coast Council, aligning with regional economic development goals to foster innovation in high-value industries like health and wellbeing. SunRamp differentiated itself by emphasising tangible deal-making and market penetration over traditional public demo days, a model partly inspired by successful accelerator programs in Boulder, Colorado.

Beyond the accelerator, SunRamp offers broader strategic management services, guiding multi-owner businesses through significant transitions with a focus on business growth, leadership development, and strategic exits. This includes services like leadership coaching, '100-Days of Momentum' programs, and skills workshops, often featuring figures such as Joe Porteus, indicating a diverse portfolio of business support. The entity serves later-stage startups ready to scale up with technology products targeting the health and wellbeing sectors, including digital health technology platforms, smart devices, wearables, mental health applications, and e-treatment solutions.

Leadership within the healthtech accelerator program included founder Ron Hill, Program Director Colin Graham, and core team member Tanya Arnold. The program also boasted an impressive panel of mentors, featuring 17 industry experts with extensive experience, such as Dr Tony Keating from ResApp Health, Stephen Stoyan of Digital Health at Orion, and Kathryn Foster, a former senior executive with Microsoft. These leaders and mentors provided critical support and international connections, particularly in Colorado and Shanghai, enabling participating businesses to access global markets and investors. This blend of accelerator programming and strategic consultancy highlights SunRamp's commitment to nurturing innovation and fostering sustainable business growth in the health technology and broader business-to-business landscapes.
