Remarkable is a prominent accelerator based in Sydney, Australia, with a core mission to empower Disability Tech innovators and foster a future that is accessible, equitable, and inclusive for all. Established in 2016 as an initiative of the Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA), Remarkable was founded on the belief that disability is a powerful driver of innovation. Its genesis was inspired by global competitions and hackathons where individuals with cerebral palsy were at the forefront of developing groundbreaking technologies, such as solar-powered wheelchairs.
The organisation supports for-profit businesses dedicated to creating solutions in disability, health, and ageing technology. Remarkable offers a comprehensive suite of pathways designed to nurture startups at various stages of their development. These include the 8-week "Launcher" pre-accelerator for validating early-stage ideas, the flagship 16-week "Accelerator" program for in-market Disability Tech startups, providing seed funding, expert coaching, masterclasses, and networking opportunities. Additionally, the "Scaler" program offers Seed to Series A stage funding and bespoke strategic support, ensuring continuous growth.
What distinctly sets Remarkable apart is its commitment to user-centric design and development, deeply integrating feedback from the disability community into the innovation process. Startups gain invaluable insights from people with lived experience, directly informing the creation of truly inclusive and accessible products and services. This approach is complemented by one-on-one coaching, mentorship from subject-matter experts, and access to a global network of investors and industry leaders, all geared towards amplifying both impact and commercial success.
Under the guidance of Founder Pete Horsley and Global Head of Programs Emma Earley, Remarkable has evolved into a pivotal international hub for Disability Tech. The organisation proudly celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2025, marking significant impact with over 211 startups supported and 385 Remarkable founders across diverse cohorts. These ventures have collectively served more than 6 million customers worldwide. Remarkable's global presence expanded through a strategic partnership with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation (CPARF), enabling the delivery of distinct US and Australia+ Accelerator programs, further driving innovation in the disability technology market. This dual-program structure allows for tailored support while fostering an interconnected global network of changemakers.
