Founders Health 10x

Founders Health 10x, an accelerator based in Sydney, Australia, is a collaborative initiative between UNSW Founders and The George Institute for Global Health. Since its inception in 2019, the program has been dedicated to supporting Australia's most promising health and medtech entrepreneurs. It aims to develop affordable and scalable solutions that address critical unmet health and medical needs globally, with a particular focus on non-communicable diseases and injury in underserved communities.

The accelerator provides an intensive 10-week program designed to equip early-stage startups with crucial funding, mentorship, and resources. Participants receive an initial $100,000 SAFE note, comprising $90,000 from UNSW and $10,000 from The George Institute, with the opportunity for a significant follow-on investment of up to $200,000 through a new capital partner. This financial injection is complemented by a comprehensive support package valued at up to $1 million in 'Founders Perks', including access to startup services like accounting, insurance, and legal advice.

What sets Health 10x apart is its deep integration within Australia's most advanced health innovation ecosystem. The program operates from the Health Translation Hub, a state-of-the-art facility opened in 2025 within the Randwick Health Innovation Precinct. This strategic location provides founders with direct access to clinicians, researchers, and world-class facilities, including co-working spaces and clinical prototyping support, which is invaluable for navigating complex regulatory pathways and accelerating commercialisation.

Health 10x has a strong track record of success, having invested in 40 startups and supported over 250 health innovators across Australia since 2019. Its portfolio companies have collectively raised over $23 million in post-program funding and generated a combined enterprise value exceeding $167 million, demonstrating the program's effectiveness in driving real-world impact. The accelerator actively backs founders in diverse areas, including women's health and fertility advancements, with portfolio companies addressing critical needs in vaginal health, endometriosis, and IVF.

Leadership of the Health 10x accelerator is primarily managed by UNSW Founders in partnership with The George Institute for Global Health, benefiting from their combined expertise in entrepreneurship program delivery and medical research. Key partners like Virtus Health, UNSW Tyree Institute of Health Engineering (IHealthE), and Australian Medical Angels contribute additional support, expertise, and investment. Joseph Po and Cydonie Greenaway serve as Program Managers, playing pivotal roles in guiding startups through their journey.
